As I sit here this morning, wearing my wranglers, getting ready to purchase some Nikes with my master card, I ponder Brett Favre's meeting with Childress later this week. The bacon is sizzling, which serves as a reminder to take my Priolsec OTC. All of these thoughts of him playing for the vikes is making my stomach uneasy.
You see, Favre made me continue to enjoy and follow football after Montana moved to KC. Watching Young underachieve year after year, I was lost. It is difficult to watch your team thrive all season only to inevitably fall to the dang cowboys. I am getting hot under the collar just thinking about those days. I apply my sensodyne and pour a tall, ice cold glass of milk to cool me down.
It is strange all the ways that Favre has affected my daily life. This is going to be a tough transition, having my two favorite players in the same backfield, playing for the team that I grew up rooting against (for no reason), makes me make this face:
Your thoughts on this intriguing possibility/probability:

TheRiot beat me to starting this thread. This is a story that just will not die. It seems like this time it is for real, and "Brett" will be in purple next year. It sends a wave of emotions through a Vikings fan. The guy who has been on the receiving end of so much hatred will probably be leading my team. MY TEAM! How can I root for a guy that has caused so much pain and suffering throughout my years? And it's so tough because I think he makes us a better team. Will his arm hold up the entire year? How will I be able to stand the announcers sucking him off every single game? Will I be able to accept a Favre led Vikings Super Bowl victory?
I am going to hate to see Favre in purple, but he makes the Vikes the NFC favorite. I think my head is going to explode....
I know there is a tendency to not like Favre coming to the Vikings but I am ecstatic.
I hate the Packers, I even hated Brett Favre but you have to respect the guy. The plays he makes, the amount of fun he has, he is a proven leader.
The Vikes need a QB, a veteran, who better than someone who knows the division already. He is the link we need, a gunslinger. Another bonus, is it will disguist Packer fans. My only fear is his age and injured arm.
He is hated for how good he is. That's a bad reason not to put him in Purple. As long as he beats the Packers.
Do the vikes really need a guy that is gonna throw the ball all over the field and make a bunch of mistakes? Sure he was great in his prime, but last year, he almost single handedly knocked the Jets out of the playoffs. All we need is a guy who can be servicible throwing the ball down field without making mistakes. Not sure how I feel about this yet...
I wonder how Houshmanjadeh would feel about this?
I will never cheer for Brett Favre.
No way. I hated the guy. I hate the guy. I will hate the guy.
I would have to take a shower after every Vikings game.
John David Booty is the only No. 4 I want prancing around my backfield, throwing snowballs at teammates, slapping referees butts, gunslinging, warrorring, backyarding....you get the picture.
warrorring? Making up words are we Squints?
