Red Sox...Dead.

Baseball fans outside of Chowder Head Nation can breathe easy once again. This may be one of the poorest rated World Series in recent history, but to true baseball fans around the world, it will consist of one of the greatest team sports stories in years. What the Rays have done this year is an unbelievable achievement and I will be behind my American League bretheren throughout this series.

Props to my boy, Joe Madden, who spent just about his entire MLB career in the Angels organization before getting the Tampa Bay job.

Lots of young talent in this series. Give these guys like Evan Longoria, BJ Upton, Carl Crawford, Matt Garza, James Shields...etc some much deserved attention. This Phils are more publicized than the Rays, but obviously they have some great young talent as well. Should be a great series to watch.

I'm torn about this series. There is some great young talent on both teams that finally gets a chance at the big stage. On the other hand, I'd rather have one of those teams in the series you either love or hate. When the Marlins beat the Yanks, it was a great cinderella story mostly because they beat the all mighty Yankees. There are decent storylines in this series, but I don't believe there are great ones. The only thing to save this series is a dramatic moment and close games.

I say Rays in 6. Do the Phils really think they can win the series with Brett Meyers and Jamie Moyer pitching to a very good AL lineup?

You writers and your story lines...how bout just some really good baseball. That's enough of a story line for me.

Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard? Ur saying those guys aren't more publicized than Evan Longoria and BJ Upton? I was talking about the individual players, not about the teams themselves.

have you seen ESPN this year? The phillies are old news. Sports media is swooning over the greatest underdog story in recent time. They have no payroll and beat the yanks and sox over 162 and then eliminate the sox. The rays have been much more publicized this year being over-shadowed by the big-market mets and underdog marlins. The rays are much more publicized.

Christ! ESPN is doing a bit comparing Evan Longoria to Eva Longoria. How retarded! They said he came out of nowhere. He was a top pick from a purely baseball school. REDiculous

Did you not read what I wrote? Yes, the Rays as a team are get more coverage than the Phils, but not as individual players. Ryan Howard is doing subway commercials for christ sake! How many baseball players do you see doing ads for non athletic products? Maybe a handful. Jimmy Rollins was last year's MVP...how can you say that a rookie, Longoria, gets more publicity than these guys?

Besides, this wasn't even one of my skip bayless comments, I was just making what I thought was a pretty agreed upon observation...apparently not.
