A Little Twins Talk

...just to make you feel important around here during the playoffs.

No, but seriously. I have an inside source telling me that the Twins might be looking to make a deal for a third baseman in a deal that might include Delmon Young.

Soooooooo, Twins fans, would you be willing to part ways with DY? What would you be willing to give up for that big right-handed bat you've all been looking for? Please, opine...

again, not a twins fan, I'm not that smart. Best plan, keep this team until the deadline. Then, if in the hunt and Liriano is having a big season, trade him for a 3B who is not at the end of the contract.

Absolutely not Riot. If we can indeed make a deal for a big name 3rd baseban with pop from the right side of the plate, I'd absolutely give up DY. Move span to left and put Cuddy back in right with Gomez in Center. Best defensive outfield in baseball. DY is horribly overrated. Yes, he hit 290 this year, but he strikes out way too much and his OPS is well below average.

TheRiot and I agreed that the Twins and Cubs should make a deal sending Punto to the Cubs and Aramis Ramiriez to the Twins straight up. Hell of a good deal for the Cubs I'd say. haha

i hate Delmon Young. You can just see that he's gonna turn into a big tub of goo. He just doesn't have the value that Liriano does. Liriano will also be arbitration eligible, which the twins showed this year they don't want to pay. Therefore, they can get an everyday player in return, since whoever gets Liriano won't have to break the bank financially, just the farm system will go belly up

lets keep in mind that any deal including DY for a "big bat 3b" is going to require a lot more than just DY.

DY...and probably some pitching. I'd assume a young starter.

I'm a little skeptical of the twins making this move. They traded a very good arm in Garza and don't see them giving up this quickly on DY.
