I don't know much about the NBA...

But I'll try to get something going here.

-Oden is out for 3-4 weeks. Sam Bowie anyone?
-"Four more years" for Andrew Bynum.
-Houston Rockets anyone??? If they stay healthy and Ron Artest keeps his mouth shut, things might be looking up.
-Any major sleepers this year? Anyone a little overrated?
-Who's the favorite? Who's gonna take it?

Please, opine!

Oden will be another injury-plagued big man. I just hope Bynum doesn't follow suit.

Speaking of Bynum, if he stays healthy, how do you not love the Lakers?

I think Houston will be a bust. There will be drama and injuries and below-expectation play.

I see a LAL/BOS rematch in the making. This time Kobe won't let them lose.

I hope Oden manages to stay healthy, cuz he really does have the potential to be one of the all time greats. He's a physical freak.

I agree, the Lakers look good...we'll see how Bynum and Gasol gel. Might be tough to have them both on the floor at the same time. Bynum is a 5 and Gasol is a 4, but they really play a similar type game. I think they will figure it out though, and the Lakers are my pick to come out of the West.

McGrady and Yao have been injury plauged their entire careers and I don't see that changing this season. I do think they are good enough to make a run at the playoffs though and if somehow they manage to stay healthy all season they could easily comptete with the Lakers.

I also really like the Hornets alot and of course, you have to mention the Spurs, depending on how Ginobili comes back from his injury.

Boston is definately the favorite in the East, but Detroit and Cleveland will be right there I think.

I think naps is probably right, Lakers Celtics rematch in the Finals.

oden will be fine and they'll make the playoffs

Bynum will be good. The problem for the lakers is that there won't be enough to get everyone their touches on offense. Even if to rectify that problem, the NBA allowed them to play with two balls at a time, Kobe would simply try to shoot two at once.

Artest will finally get TMac out of the first round.
