Real disappointing. Horrible way to lose to a terrible team from a terrible city who wear terrible uniforms and play in a terrible ballpark built by terrible construction workers.
thats funny stuff...but i think its safe to say that the sox got lucky on that play. the ball bounced off the mound just right, it went up the line just enough for a.j. to not get completely run over by cuddyer, and lets not forget that it was so shallow that griffey's squirt gun was barely able to get cuddyer and his bad foot out.
Cuddyer absolutely had to try to score there. It was the right play, especially with Punto on deck. AJ drops that ball, or Griffey's throw is up the line a couple of feet, every one calls Ulger a genius.
Very fitting that the Twins lose while getting shutout. Say what you want about the Twins scoring the 3rd most runs in the AL this year, the fact is, they score in bunches. Its games like this when they needed a legitimate power bat to do exactly what Thome did. The Sox were shutdown just like the Twins were, except for one bad pitch and one good swing by Thome. We can't always rely on stringing several hits together or having the best batting average with runners in scoring position in over 40 years. THE TWINS NEED AN F'N POWER BAT TO PREVENT OR AT LEAST MINIMIZE GAMES LIKE THIS!!!!!
i dont care who i on deck or how poor griffey has become. He fielded the ball just over two hundred feet from home plate. He didn't have to fire it. He two hopped it right in there. Gardy could have seen the possibility for a pinch runner if it was a necessity to tag.
1. Naps is in charge here. He breaks the rules when it is necessary. Don't reference the rules after things he's posted. If he broke one, it's more than likely because you said something stupid.
2. While racial slurs and shots at people's sexual preference can be funny, use them sparingly. We do like to sound somewhat intelligent here.
3. This is a blog about sports played by other people. No one cares how well you golfed last weekend.
4. Don't start consecutive posts for topics that are closely related. (e.g. Don't write about Livan Hernandez in one post then start a new post five minutes later whining about Mike Lamb.)
5. New posts are for new topics. Don't bring up old issues.
