David Ortiz
I'm watching the morning Sportscenter and Mike & Mike in the Morning, and they just showed the highlights from last nights Red Sox beat down at the hands of the Rays. In a 6-2 game in the third inning, Gabe Gross knubs one back toward pitcher Javier Lopez. He can't control it, and Willie Aybar scores giving the Rays seven runs with two outs in the bottom of the third. The next camera shot is of David Ortiz shaking his head in disgust as his pitcher couldn't make the play. David Ortiz is so bad that he is yet to take the field this season! How is some big ogre that has started less games in the field than Ryan Braun fit to judge anybodys fielding ability? Go down the tunnel and get in the cage or else get on the phone and call Fred McGriff, maybe he has an old Tom Emanski video lying around for you.

why guys like that should never be considered for mvp.
Unless their name rhymes with Pravis Wafner.
ahahahahahahahahahahah....ahahahahahahahahahaha.....ha......hahahah.....hahahahahahaaha...ha...ha...ha...ha.
Also why guys like that should not be considered for the hall of fame. Jime Thome, Edgar Martinez...
if he never got the nickname Big Papi, ESPN would focus their attention elsewhere too, i believe. its all a part of the chris bermann effect. I'm glad Mike Lowell, Dustin Pedroia, and Ellsbury dont have nicknames yet. i'd have to jam something sharp into my brain
jim thome was a position player for a MAJORITY of his career
for 10 years thome has played well over 100 games in the field, not to mention 4 additional years, to begin his career, where every game he appeared in was at 3b. so, basically, for 14 years thome has played a VAST majority of his games in the field and only began to dh on a regular basis in 2006.
